When Solomon was asked by God what, out of anything possible in the world, he wanted to equip him to be a good leader, he didn’t choose intelligence — he opted for wisdom. But our society largely fixates on IQ and “associates intelligence with goodness” as in the case of Clinton’s 1990’s. The link is worth reading, and it is worth considering whether intelligence is always that valuable. I assume we all know intelligent people who aren’t worth much to be around because they lack social skills, maturity or wisdom. It’s one of the Dems’ largest problems– they choose intellectuals instead of people with a folksy, Churchillean-Reaganite wisdom. And they’re much the worse for it.

UPDATE: This guy (in front, looking like Gollum) was my roommate last summer — the one who kind of hit on Beutler’s pre-teen sisters. This guy was at the same party, but is much smoother and has an OC publisher credit to his life story. Also, tomorrow he turns 27. Happy birthday to that man.

AND: You HAVE TO read this if you hate the French and want to see one way Rummy’s sticking it to the frogs.
