American Exports

I might be the only one of us who cares about the World Series this year, but abroad America’s Pastime is being taken up in what may seem like an unlikely place. Awesome.

  1. Timothy says:

Not for the BoSox, that’s for sure.

  2. Melissa says:

Apparently, haircuts and baseball DON’T go well together.

  3. Timothy says:

You know, that’s really not a horrible plan. Baseball and sloshed go well together.

  4. melissa says:

I don’t f***ing care about baseball. But let’s get sauced and make comments about the MLB trend of long hair sticking out from under batting helmets this year! Wooooooo hoooooo!

Don’t worry, Dan. I’m a girl. I can get away with this shit. Owwww!

  5. Timothy says:

Heh, just nevermind, you are obviously a heathen. If Ortiz actually knows how to catch, first base could work out. I’m not sure how he is on defense, though, as he doesn’t have to do it…erm…ever.

  6. Danimal says:

And then ko comes back with what I have to assume is a reasonable answer, “1B,” and it is so inscrutable that all I can think to do is stare out the window and fart.

So this is why you don’t hear me talking baseball.

    {as he clicks “post,” he hopes that Tim will not take this as an invitation to explain it all.}

  7. Danimal says:

Hey, I’m following the baseball. I just don’t blog about it because I don’t know pap and certain much more knowledgeable baseball fans who like to cavil and expound would tear me to pieces. For example, what Tim just said two comments above? For me it reads thus:It’s nice to have another baseball fan around the blog, so welcome aboard! I think they’ll split in Boston now, and St. Louis will do really well at home, it’s a big disadvantage having to manage in an NL ballpark when you’ve been in the AL all season {due to implied distinctions between the two which, however obvious, are utterly beyond Danimal’s ken}. On the other hand, blah blah blah blah blah blah National League blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. But, blah blah blah blah some guy’s fat ass blah blah blah blah bat blah blah blah blah St. Louis? In spite of it all, go Sox. And tough break there, Tim, for your Astros.

  8. ko says:

That’s a good question. He isn’t exactly spry in the field. but 1B, I think.

  9. Timothy says:

On the other hand, Francona has spent a lot of time in the National League so he might still be pretty familiar with the particulars of it. But, where do you play David Ortiz’s fat ass if you want his bat in the lineup in St. Louis?

  10. ko says:

The only one who cares about the series this year? Say it ain’t so! My beloved Sox are in. And up 1-0.
