Election Watch: Enter Vishanoff

  • As the deadline is over we now have the preliminary candidate list available. Please note that it’s not the finalized list- according to ASUO Elections Manager Dante Vivanco there are a couple of changes that need to be made.
  • Notice some people missing from the list? So did we. Most notable among them is Zach Vishanoff, who despite not making the deadline or actually being a student has a Facebook group dedicated to his election. There are dots to be connected, I’ve heard.
  • While the Todd/Jontae and Dallas/Emily Executive tickets have had websites up for at least a week, Jared/Juliana and Jacob/Amy still apparantly haven’t gotten anything up yet besides the usual Facebook groups.
  • Two Commentator staffers, Andy Dolberg and Ben Hartley, have joined the Executive race. Their platform is essentially to lobotomize the incidental fee. Sounds good to me. Now get a Facebook group or website up, fellas!

UPDATE: Jacob and Amy’s website can be found at http://www.jacobandamy.com/

Dude!!!! Dolberg and Hartley have a website and a facebook group now. Rock the vote!!

  2. Ian says:

Looks like a 15 year old kid pissed on Dreamweaver and came up with it.

    Get a better design.

The basic design ain’t bad, but the choice of fonts is simply horrible.

  3. Nate says:

This is almost a competition of who has the worst site… way to go Jared I think your going to win this too!

  4. Silly Rabbit says:

    Get a better design.

  5. Jared says:

The moment you’ve all been waiting for, we finally have a website up. Check it out at http://www.voteuoregon.com

  6. Silly Rabbit says:

    Hmmmmm…more food for the feasting….

  7. Michael G. says:

And remember if you have balls vote Jared and Juliana!

And if you have a vagina, vote for someone else?

  8. Olly says:

“If you have balls vote Jared and Juliana” – now there’s a campaign slogan, Nate. (Although not quite up there with “Screw facts; it’s time for Vishanoff”.)

  9. Jan says:

Oh I can tell already this is going to be an issues-driven campaign season. Not but a few weeks in and the hot-button issue is who’s Web site sucks worse.

Issues are just another way for the man to perpetuate the rape culture!

  10. Nate says:

Who needs a website? Websites only serve to keep your campaign transparent (which does not gain votes), while your political opponents can use the info that you post against you, or possible for their own platform.

For example, Todd & Jontae’s website has been up for over a month, and Dallas & Emily’s about a week. This has enabled Jared & Juliana to basically copy and paste all of TJ’s and DE’s good campaign platform points onto their own. Don’t beleive me? Check out JJ’s facebook group and look at the issues JJ are taking on!

So who is the dumbass? JJ for being the only campaign without a site or the other 3 tickets for getting played like the fools they are!! JJ may sound shady, but they know how to work the system… so as they say “don’t player hate, Congratulate”.

And remember if you have balls vote Jared and Juliana!

Also, just so everyone is aware, I will die a virgin.

Well, okay, I will only technically be a virgin, as it

  11. Ian says:

Amy- D’oh, I had the wrong address memorized. Post corrected, thanks for the reply.

  12. Amy says:

Oh, and Jared and Juliana do have a website, but nothing is on it. It’s still “under construction.”

  13. Amy says:

For the record, Jacob and Amy do have a website: http://www.jacobandamy.com
