McCain Gives Shout-out to OC

Well, sort of. The Oregon Commentator is listed as a suggested conservative blog on John McCain’s website. It’s kind of cool to be listed alongside some of the big names like Volokh Conspiracy. A few of our friends from the AFF blog contest are also listed, as well as local Oregon blog NW Republican.

Of course, this all comes with a catch. From the website:

Select from the numerous web, blog and news sites listed here, go there, and make your opinions supporting John McCain known. Once you’ve commented on a post, video or news story, report the details of your comment by clicking the button below. After your comments are verified, you will be awarded points through the McCain Online Action Center.

What’s the current exchange rate for McCain Points? Can I also win McCain Points by playing skeeball? How many do I need to get a secret decoder ring?

  2. Deborah Bloom says:

I’d totally lez out for this Barbara Leibowitz chick.

  3. Andy says:

    Sakaki,
So people trust Ron Paul enough to give him their money, and then he hires a bunch of people to work for his campaign, some of which include family members. It seems the amount he paid to his family isn’t extravagant, so it’s hard for me to understand your criticisms, especially when you look at his voting record, his actions, and what he believes in. Also, has there been a person who has spread the ideas of freedom so far in our age? Paul is very consistent, he does the right thing. I would recommend looking at his website and learning about his economic policies. I understand some supporters have been disrespectful, but try not to let that cloud your judgment of what I believe to me a good man who has done more to advance liberty than anyone else in recent history.

    And Sean,

I just don’t think you should cheer that the titanic sank – that’s sort of crude and vulgar.

  4. Richard says:

I can’t stand McChange. In fact, I got fired when I stole McChange from the McRegister

  5. Sakaki says:

It’s very hard to take people seriously when they’re doing the exact thing they’re decrying, Andy. Ron Paul is pledging change and limited government with less enrichment of politicians’s pocket, yet he’s taking campaign funds and funneling it to his family.

If you want to be consistent, go vote for Bob Barr.

  6. bryan says:

    Nice!

At least the OC blog doesn’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop.

  7. Sean Jin says:

    McChange we can believe in?

  8. I love John McCain. He is a fantastic person, and his cap and trade plan on global warming helps me sleep at night.
Thank you John McCain for allowing me to believe in America again.

  9. drew says:

Can’t buy weed or hookers with Mccain points

  10. Sean Jin says:

Andy, it’s not that. It’s just that at some point…people have to let go of a lost cause.

Are you still rooting for the Titanic?

  11. Andy says:

Can’t have those people who support Paul be gaining traction now – quickly with the ad hominems!

We didn’t really want a grassroots campaign support a politician who actually supports freedom…

  12. T says:

I do think it’s pretty cool that you’re getting listed on McCain’s conservative blog roll, even if it comes with the risk of McCainiacs ™ taking over your comments section.

Keep up the good work, and keep the campaign trolls at bay.

  13. Sean says:

Maybe we can trade in our points for a “Get out of Iraq Free” card.

  14. T says:

Jesus, they’ve turned into Paultards. And to sweeten the deal, the campaign has created some ridiculous Camel Bucks system for inspiring people to TYPE SHOUTY THINGS ON OTHER PEOPLES BLOGS IN RUN ON NON-SEQUITOR SENTENCES THAT FEATUR NO PUNCTUATION AND ALSO HAVE LOTS OF MISPELLINGS LIKE THIS ONEe.

    Still, kudos, guys.

  15. Chris Holman says:

    Wow.
