LTD Can’t Pay Operating Costs, Asks ASUO For Money

The Ol’ Dirty is reporting that Lane Transit District is asking for more money (to the tune of over $170,000) to fund the 79x bus route, which serves Ducks Village and the Autzen Stadium area. The 79 route is on the chopping block, along with the Breeze program, as part of LTD’s announced service reduction, which means the 79x will see more riders.

If the increase goes through, students will be shovelling over nearly $1,000,000 per year to the Lane Transit District, a number which is sure to increase once LTD realizes it can continue to extort money from the ASUO by threatening to cut service on routes that serve students. The incidental fee is high enough without increasing it to help fund a transit district that evidently can’t support itself with “[a] combination of passenger fares, payroll taxes, and state and federal monies…” as well as the $800,000+ dollars students already pay to LTD.

Make sure you see today’s Emerald propaganda on the Meth-X 100 million dollar Franklin”vibrant walkable community”(for only rich white people who like Disneyland and drive Lamborghinis) extreme makeover. Student funds are so……..sustainable! I posted after it but it will probably not get through their overly moderate moderator.

Well at least ASUO is coming to the rescue with a overly facilitated LTD issues forum today-where is the damn free pizza, though? This forum might be really interesting …….if you just slammed a six pack. Something tells me cuntcerned student is affiliated with either the infamous O.S.A. or our own home grown terrorists at the Insurgent. Or maybe just a ospigg sympathizer. Now that LTD will be dying off soon we better hype up the ass-rape epidemic to justify expansion the Assault prevention shuttle to serve both male and female students and to all neighborhoods around Eugene day and night . Another student fee could not hurt. We can also switch them to hybrids to help the drowning polar bears and global whining epidemic.

Just use the 170,000 to build either one giant moving sidewalk, or a bunch of small ones.
But they’d be like the ones at the airport, where’s there’s only one direction working so you’ve got to walk to your gate, which you’ll never get to in time because you just turned 18 and you spent your time looking at the dirty mags you can now shamelessly buy.

Good ol’ Emily? Didn’t you hear? She got a job at Oregon Students Association. Surprise!

    Concerned Student:

Are you going to spout obscenities every time orwellduk posts here? Because if so, don’t bother.

Good ol Mike Eyster is at it again. First he championed “Dorms like Dungeons” infamy to put UO on the map. Now the governor appoints him to deconstruct LTD and augment Franklin blvd. EMX(also known as the meth express). Good ol sustainability fat cats-just cant get rid of em. Speaking of sustainable frauds what happened to Emily?
