Heh.
Dubiously uninformed, obviously made by hard-left wackos…but entertaining none-the-less. Check out the BushGame especially if you like 80s references galore!

Sheesh, if you want to complain about terrible gameplay, direct your missiles at that staffers thing.
LONG LIVE BOOB ROBOTS!
I loved the game. Not necessarily something I expected to see on the OC Web site, but great nonetheless.
The propaganda was a little much. But, I agree with Blog, A BOOB ROBOT!!!
Everything Tim said is right. Limitations of Flash can’t explain the odd horizontal and verticle movement, to be sure. Not sure about the rest of it. Of course, I’d prefer all the preachiness be removed.
Another fun but pointless Flash game with pretty graphics is the Staffers Game. It’s worth at least five minutes.
Tim, a lot of your complaints could also be applied to 95% of all original NES games, which this obviously sought to imitate. You’ve also got to consider the context here. For a Flash game, made by one guy, this is as good as it gets. And how can you argue with Michael Powell in a giant boob robot?
But you’re both right about the preaching. They should have integrated it.
It is unfortunate that the designers of the game were more focused on graphics and their message than on gameplay. With a few tweaks, this could be a really great game:
* Lateral movement is too fast, vertical movement is too slow (and too high)
* The gameplay flow is interrupted by the lessons – it would be much better if they were somehow integrated more. This is very difficult
* Interface is bad: controls are split all over the keyboard *and* mouse, the game doesn’t deal gracefully with simultaneous keypresses
* Multiple characters are in this case just an abstraction for continues; kinda weak. I’d like to swap characters in and out based on their special attacks and health levels
* Special attacks last too long — they should be shorter but more frequent.
* Should be a more level between bosses, and they should be a bit more challenging than “run straight, run straight, find the exit, run straight”
Hot damn, I need to design a game.
Preachy, offensive, etc. But worst of all, it takes too damned long to jump.
I also doubt its effectiveness as propaganda. In particular the deficit teach-in during level two is so dull and unwelcome (I’m trying to shoot bats here!) that only the already-converted will read it.
It’s a clever idea, though. I bet we’ll see more of this in coming election cycles.
Thanks for humoring me, Tim.
I actually didn’t find it via Blog, but because he’s so insistent: Hattip BLOG!
What, no hat tip? Me want hat tip!
OK, fine, you could have found that game from
any number of sources other than my blog.
Thanks Tim…now if only I was done with finals so that I wasn’t procrastinating on studying by playing this game. ><
Hell Yes!
