Con Court Places Injunction Against Elections Board

To wit, straight from Con Court’s mouth:

“In re Kevin Day vs. ASUO Elections Board Chief Justice Derrick writes as the appointed Hearings Officer of the Constitution Court.

“Whereas, the Constitution Court has assigned the Chief Justice to serve as the Hearings Officer pursuant to rule 12.2 of the ASUO Constitution Court Rules and Procedures.

“Whereas, the Court determines a hearings officer is necessary to gather information from the parties in the petition and that participation by the Elections Board in the ASUO elections during consideration by the hearings officer may compromise material components of the petition.

“It is hereby ordered that an injunction be placed against the ASUO Elections Board and that the results of the primary election not be released until such time as the Hearings Officer makes a ruling pursuant to rule 12.2.1 of the ASUO Constitution Court Rules and Procedures.”

I’m not entirely sure what’s going on, but I’ve heard some speculation: Apparently, there have been a tremendous amount of grievances filed against exec frontrunners Ashley and Jael. I doubt they’ll be kicked off the ballot, but I suppose that depends on the seriousness of the charges. Keep in mind that this is only rumor and hearsay at this moment.

Need I even say this … MOST IMCOMPETENT STUDENT GOVERNMENT EVER

  1. Melissa says:

    *sigh*

  2. Tyler says:

    MUNGER HUNGRY! MUNGER SMASH!!!!

    RAAAARRRGHGHGH!!!!!!

  3. Clint T. says:

    I agree with Michael.

  4. Timothy says:

I dunno, there’ll never be another BUNGER! or another MUNGER! for that matter.

  5. Big M says:

    I’ve accepted my loss.

Now time to fuck everyone else up.

  6. Michael G. says:

    “MOST IMCOMPETENT STUDENT GOVERNMENT EVER”

Given the trend, wait until we see next year’s student government.

  7. Timothy says:

Jan: And now you know how Tim ended up a libertarian.

  8. Jan says:

I keep laughing until I realize that these people are our future politicians and may someday be deciding the fate of my tax money. Then I usually hit the bottle. Hard.

  9. Andy D says:

aww f-ing cry about it!! We’re so perfect here at the UO. LoL. Anyone who went to sunriver isn’t getting my vote; they are all a pack of criminals. She wants to feel solidarity with the pot smokers and boozers, she can feel it without representing me.

  10. Scott says:

All right, I have no idea what’s going on at the ASUO in my absence, but I would be very surprised if this year’s student government, or even the dill holes that are trying to win it, are even a smidge as incompetent as Bill Miner and Ben Unger. I do regret attacking them as an undergraduate, though. It really was quite senselss and stupid. Hehe hehe

  11. Timothy says:

I just keep laughing harder and harder.

  12. A.D. says:

In the back of the election packet there is a rule saying that they aren’t allowed to go campaign in resident halls or dining areas. One of my friends told me that there door was open only a crack and that two girls wearing Ashley and Jael shirts opened the door without knocking and proceeded to pester them trying to get them to vote, they also tried to get them to put Ashley and Jael posters up in his window. They proceeded to do this throughout the entire hall and then came back again to the room where my friend had been because some of his friends had just showed up. They began the speel all over again and were resistant when asked to leave. I personally feel that following people down the street trying to convince them to vote for you should be against the rules but this is just rediculous.
