Nat Hentoff has a really good article on conservatives fighting for civil liberties— re: opposition to the Patriot Act, or at least insurance that the “sunset” clause remains intact.

Pound Magazine used to offer a section called “pound for pound” in which heavyweights like Al Gore and Busta Rhymes went round for round in a freestyle rap competition. Make sure you check out Chef Raekwon versus The Chef from South Park.

Here’s a shocker: Jack Osbourne has checked into a rehab clinic for alcohol abuse. And he’s seventeen. Can’t for wait the “talking points” on this one.

And has anybody been watching the playoffs? Not those playoffs, you damn canucks, I’m talking about the real playoffs. So I guess your precious Blazers have some momentum heading into game six— at Portland. Good. I hope they win. Dallas has no chance of beating Sacramento, and I think Portland would be a better warm-up for C-Webb and company. They’ve got to be ready to face the Lakers, who in all likelihood are going to finish off Minnesota tonight. Yeah… I know LA still has to play San Antonio (maybe Phoenix), but join me in rooting for LA. Know matter how much you hate the Lakers—and I fucking hate the Lakers—just think how cool a Sacramento/ LA rematch would be. If Sacramento wins the title without beating LA in the playoffs, it will be a hollow victory. The Pistons had to beat the Celtics. The Bulls had to beat the Pistons. It’s tradition.

And I wasn’t going to post this, but here goes… check out this great article from the Exile about the future of the American Empire. It’s obviously left-leaning, but it’s pretty funny. And if you need some comic relief, go back in the archives and read some of Mark Ames “Whore-R” stories, where he interviews local prositutes before sleeping with them. Great stuff.
