Okay, This Is Just Great

The Instastandin Megan McArdle (Jane Galt) links to this fairly old video of Bush. I have no idea when it’s from, but from the look of it I’d guess somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 or 20 years.

I’m sure a lot of people will latch on to this as some example of how Bush lacks a sense of propriety and blah blah blah be serious on TV cakes. Me? I think it’s hillarious. Bush doesn’t take a TV appearance seriously, he knows he’s not being broadcast, and he does something pretty random that’s not too dissimilar from what I might.

As an aside: I have, many times, flipped the bird at the sun.

Hmmmm… Me too. A lot, actually, and typically accompanied by “Fuck the sun, long live the Beast.” All of that started while at the UO. I certainly think there’s a connection.

Anyway, while we’re on the topic of flipping the bird, perhaps you’ll enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it. If only I could have found a similar facial expression.

It’s a smart video to put out, as it aims to diminish the religious conservative vote, Bush’s not-so-secret GOTV weapon.

    How damming!

  4. WWB says:

The video was found/is being promoted by Texans for Truth, which just shows how little argument that organization actually has against the president.

But even they seem to realize this, announcing that the video “shows what George Bush thinks of democracy.” Um, whatever.

That IS hilarious. Anyone anti-Bush who jumps on that as a count against him needs to seriously re-evaluate their outlook, preferably via enema. That was great. And I say that as a Kerry voter.

It kinda makes me wish Bush wasn’t our President, and was still a drinker, just so we could have some laughs. Well, who knows what the future holds?
