The State of Jefferson Has Some Competition

Republican state senators in Washington are sponsoring legislation to split the state in twain and create a 51st state composed of the lands east of the Cascades. Restrictions placed on land-use and other regulations are at the heart of the debate, but the controversy surrounding the close gubernatorial race only amplified the division between east and west.

The legislation isn’t being seriously considered, but it provides legislators and opportunity to discuss the subject. Moreover, it would also take a vote by Congress to approve a new state.

    Chris:

The dead voter thing essentially didn’t happen. It’s already been investigated. A few folks accidentally mailed in a dead spouse’s ballot instead of their own…and some signed on the wrong line in the poll book. Wow. That’s quite a conspiracy. (yawn)

You’re misstating the King County issue, too. There’s actually a bookeeping error where there’s more voters than ballots. It’s also like that in various other counties throughout the state…several that went to Rossi, in fact.

Which people were found, exactly, that have been voting since 1902? And who did they vote for?

I have quite a bit on my blog about the Washington election. I hope you’ll come over and read it. 🙂

Washington Democrat motto: vote early, vote often, vote on behalf of dead people. The whole thing is a fraud. More votes were cast in King County than there are registered voters in King County. Not only that, they have found people who “voted” for Gregoire who have voted in every single King County election since 1902. Do the math. Have that anywhere on your blog?

Republicans in Washington State have gone off the deep end.

This “splitting the state” business is just part of a long line of really bizarre behavior.

I’ve been blogging indepth and at length about the Washington Gubernatorial election contest. I really thought the Swift Boat guys (against Kerry) were the most dishonest purveyors of bovine fecal matter I’d ever seen…until Chris Vance of the WSRP started in. Wow.

Oh great, so that means we get bumped to the 52nd state? Thanks a lot, Washington.

Actually, I saw a map that had Wahiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, and Skamania counties as a part of Eastern Washington (Washington, as is referred to in the map).

    I’d go for that.

The State of Jefferson has no competition. None.

  7. Funnily enough, it seems Morton does this every year or two.
