OSPIRG Guest Column in ODE

Watch OSPIRG engage in strawman tactics to counter Gabe Bradley’s arguments. Oh, and here’s a gem:

These days, it is tough to create social change when true special interest groups, with lots of money to throw around, have so much influence over our state and national political process. OSPIRG provides an effective forum for students to create change.

  1. Timothy says:

    Can’t see…red mist descending…

  2. Olly says:

Hee hee! I think we’ve all got to concede, these people have got some set of balls on them. I have rarely, if ever, seen balls of this magnitude.

“One student group at the University could not alone protect the Oregon coast or pass a clean cars rule. To be effective, we need access to the decision makers who can protect the coast, and to unite people across the state behind the campaign. In order to gain access to these decision makers, the five OSPIRG schools pool their money.”

… but they’re not lobbyists, remember. And these people are employees of the Oregon State Public Interest Research Group, not the Oregon Student Public Interest Research Group, which is totally different.

  3. Ben says:

I keep reading that editorial over and over and I can’t get through it without my vision dissolving into blind rage. I had honestly forgotten how stupid people can be. And to think I actually worked there for a time.

  4. Ian says:

I wonder if the ODE will approve my website comment…

  5. Timothy says:

I read about half of that Op-Ed, started trying to fashion a response, but I degenerated into unhinged cursing after a few sentence.
