Oh yea!

The register guard ran a story today that includes an interview with the Medford teacher who is challenging the ban on fire arms in the classroom, which was posted last month by CJ. The woman claims she is afraid that her husband may come to the school and hurt her, but after taking one good look at Gerry Katz, I don’t see how this guy can do any harm.

  1. SimGuy says:

Da Lancie, Katz has been stable enough to own (and carry concealed) a gun since 2004.

Not to mention, just because the husband tells the Register Guard that he didn’t threaten to kill her doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Mr. Katz mentioned a custody battle over a child. Often both parents engage in character assassination in order to win custody, both trying to make the other look crazy or foolish.

Got to love the RG spin at the end about the Kip Kinkel school shooting. How does making it illegal for people with concealed carry license have anything to do with people going on shooting rampages?

Jared managed to leave town? Tell that guy hi for me.

  3. Meghann says:

Ossie: The tailgater is for all alumni, even traitors like yourself. 🙂 So show up! If not, I’m gonna hunt you down and make you hang out with us. Jared will be in town, too, so we have to get together for some fun.

  4. Timothy says:

Yeah, nobody with a half-decent grasp on handgun safety would take a shot in a classroom filled with bystanders, let alone when the walls are probably thin enough to let anything with half-decent penetration power right the hell through. Depending on the kind of bullet, the caliber, and the load you might just end up missing and killing the hell out of somebody in Algebra II the next room over. Of course, having the weapon available on her person in case of an incident on the grounds of the school but in a safer shooting situation is a different question.

  5. Ossie says:

BTW Meghann: Any chance of me being let into the Ol’ Di…I mean Oregon Daily Emerald tailgater this Saturday?

  6. Ossie says:

Of course we know that. What do you think we are, a bunch of slackers?

  7. Meghann says:

Did anyone see in The Oregonian that the UO plans to borrow the entire cost of the arena? That’s $200 million in bonds. Yowza!

  8. de lancie says:

so what, katz thinks that if her ex-husband or a student try to attack her she is going to shoot them back in the middle of a classroom and risk harming other students…i dunno. it doesn’t really bother me that she has a gun, it is more that she is so fearful of one in a million type scenarios. she doesn’t seem stable enough to be allowed to have a gun. i mean would you give me a gun…

  9. T says:

He has the flowing locks of a majestic stallion!
