Pacifica Forum to Bring David Irving

On Monday, June 9 at seven p.m. in the EMU Walnut Room the Pacifica Forum will host David Irving. Yes, that David Irving. Way to stay classy, guys. Irving’s topic du jour will be “Political Imprisonment in Modern Europe.” Irving has some first-hand experience on the issue; he was convicted of Holocaust denial in Austria in 2006. I’m excited about this opportunity to see a world class, professional asshat in person.

Update: Not so shockingly, this post got linked to over at Stormfront. I’ve locked the comment thread. Now resuming our regular, ZOG-approved content (sarcasm, by the way).

  1. Claude Monet says:

There are thousands of people in jail or inflicted with a professional disability (such as loss of academic degree or teaching license) in Europe for writing books or doubting certain elements of the Holocau$t.

Irving was sent to jail under Austria’s ‘banning law’ which charged and ‘convicted’ Irving for trying to reinstate the Nazi government. Austria did not prosecute him under a Holocaust denial statute assuming Austria has one. FYI most countries don’t call the law a ‘holocaust denial law’ the criminal charges are wrapped up in nonsense such as ‘defaming the dead,’ ‘denial of war crimes’ or ‘incitement to racial hatred.’

In France you can blaspheme Christ till the cows come home, but stating in public that “the building in Aushwitz shown to tourists as a gas chamber could not have been actually used as a gas chamber” is enough to merit a Court fine. Doubting the death toll can carry a jail term. The biggest joke of all is that you can not even highlight the arguments of both sides of this question without running afoul of the law. Most of Europe and Canada do not have free speach. A Court in Canada held in the Zuindel trial that ‘truth is no defense.’ Galileo’s inquisition was more fair.

  2. Timothy says:

    So he doesn

  3. dc says:

    By the way:

“Truth needs no laws to support it. From Galileo to Zundel, only lies and liars have resorted to the courts to enforce adherence to dogma.”

    mike rivero, whatreallyhappened.com

  4. dc says:

So he doesn’t subscribe to the gas chamber chapter of the story~
That shouldn’t make him a “Holocaust Denier”.

  5. dc says:

I’ve never heard him speak, but I have been watching closely how the zionist-pen currently rewrites reality, for a goodly amount of years now.

I think it will be immensely interesting to hear from someone who has been in the eye of the storm for as long as he has, and I very much look forward to the Q&A, also.

  6. Vincent says:

“I don’t see any reason to be tasteful about Auschwitz. It’s baloney, it’s a legend. Once we admit the fact that it was a brutal slave labour camp and large numbers of people did die, as large numbers of innocent people died elsewhere in the war, why believe the rest of the baloney?” Irving said.

He added, “I say quite tastelessly, in fact, that more women died on the back seat of Edward Kennedy’s car at Chappaquiddick than ever died in a gas chamber in Auschwitz.”

    David Irving

    “Code” indeed.

  7. Chris Holman says:

How about the merits of Mr. Irving and the merits of listening to what he has to say.

    What are they d.c. ?

  8. dc says:

    I’m not twisting.
Not trying to “get out of anything”.

The phrase “denying the holocaust” is, in effect, a bogus term, is all.
It’s just another box. A distortion of the truth, meant to capture the attention of certain segments of the population and evoke disgust. It’s code. Go deeper, Vincent.

  9. Vincent says:

Oops, should be an “is” in there.

  10. Vincent says:

Yeah, Austria’s law (and Germany’s similar laws) bullshit.

  11. Timothy says:

Well, Austria’s law is bullshit, but that doesn’t mean the dude isn’t a douchefuck.

  12. Vincent says:

dc: I’m afraid there is no way to twist out of this one. David Irving is a convicted Holocaust denier and he’s been offered a platform upon which to spread his views by the Pacifica Forum.

No talk of “blacklisting” and “bias” will obscure that. The man is simply too well-known.

I’d also add that Irving has not, in fact, “denied his denial”, as it were, but in fact admitted to denying the Holocaust during his trial in Austria. His defense was that he has, since the 1989 comments that got him in trouble, changed his views.

Whether or not his views on the Holocaust have, in fact, changed (and to say the jury’s still out on that question would be a real understatement…), his online newsletter is still chock full of Nazi worship and casual anti-Semitism.

David Irving is not a particularly savory character any way you look at it. It’s puzzling why the Pacifica Forum, which has been so concerned about its image lately, would give someone like him a platform to speak.

  13. dc says:

Irving denys that he denys there was a Holocaust.

Oh– and I looked at that Wiki-link at length, last night.
Interesting, the blatant bias. It’s almost cute that of the 80 (Notes) source links listed, the only “live” ones, are those which support the Wiki-author’s intention to blacklist Irving.

Seems to me guys, that in our current age of extreme propaganda, you all would reserve your judgmental moaning, until after you have heard what he has to say.

  14. Jo says:

Nothing they do is even surprising anymore.

  15. Timothy says:

In the sense that David Irving is newsworthy.

  16. CJ Ciaramella says:

Oh, c’mon. This is totally newsworthy.

  17. Guy says:

You just couldn’t stay away could you CJ. That forum is one hell of a monkey on your back.

  18. orwellduk says:

Yeah, I have not been this excited since cult follower Bill Bradbury preached on the coming global warming apocalypse at South Eugene high school.

  19. Vincent says:

Yeah, the Pacifica Forum is really stepping up their game, here. David Irving is really the gold standard in Holocaust-denial masquerading as “history”.
