I call Godwin’s law in 3 …. 2… 1…..
I’m really, REALLY trying to avoid any allusions to fascists or Nazism because it always distracts from the argument, but you’re right.
They’ll never figure that out, even though I all but spelled it out for them. They’re far too self righteous to look at the history of Nazism and see how close to it they are.
“2.2 Be it further resolved that, the ASUO stands in solidarity with the student body in asking that the Pacific Forum not meet on the University of Oregon campus.”
The ASUO has a warped understanding of “the student body” since the only people complaining or causing a safety issue are the bandanista asshats who have been protesting to hear their own self-righteous voices.
Of course, the cleansing of campus will be cheered if the ASUO is stupid enough to set this precedent. I’ll cheer it because it means I can get my crew together, stomp over to whatever meetings I don’t like, and then cause a scene so that my safety is threatened and…voila!
It’s very subversive really, this thinly-veiled ideological discrimination. I’m positive that the pro-cleansing crowd will cling to their safety argument though since, without it, the ol’ true colors will come shining through. I’m not sure if they’ll be able to handle the realization that they are a part of the problem AND acting like the groups that they so despise.
