Oregon Bans Bottled Water

Multnomah County will now restrict the county’s purchase of bottled water.

Marijuana could be getting legalized in California next month and we are banning bottled water. What a time we live in.

Bottled water is a gateway beverage. Those little 16 oz. bottles might seem harmless … but before long, you can be carrying around liter-size bottles (a.k.a “quarts” in street-slang), or the dreaded 1/2 gallon varieties (“jugs”). Some hardcore water-addicts have up to 8 glasses a day! Some users even go so far as to celebrate the ritual of it, donning metallic designer carriers for their substance.

Rememember, kids: Just so no to H20.

  2. Java says:

Asking Multnomah County to use tap water instead of water bottled in plastic is, for reasons stated, not unreasonable. (How far should a government be able to go with such an issue?) Should I also see it as a cost-cutting measure?

For those who have strong feelings about not drinking tap water, filtered water might be made available. Maybe the old thermos could be updated and brought with filtered water from home…

Dear Mr. Jordan, your article is very misleading- you might want to reconsider your choice of words before you stir up some crazy shit. The article linked from your post says “county departments will use city tap water and avoid buying bottled water except in cases where there is no other safe alternative”- not “people living in Multnomah country CANT HAVE BOTTLED WATER!!!!!!!!!”
